Your partner in Japan
To get started in a foreign distant market like Japan, with its unknown rules of play and your limited knowledge of the language, is frequently bound up with high expenditure, immeasurable difficulties and incalculable risks. Experienced partners and advisors who know the lie of the land in Japan, who are well-connected, speak both languages and understand both mentalities, are especially indispensable for small and mid-sized businesses.
This is where the AHK Japan can help you. As a highly regarded and respected institution in Japan, with its qualified team and above all its innumerable contacts and connections, the Chamber can save you time and money during start-up, in problem-solving and in many other situations.
Promoting overseas business
Co-funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Chamber is the key institution for promoting Germany’s overseas business development in Japan. The Chamber promotes bilateral economic relations with wide-ranging activities in information and publicity, building and maintaining networks, as well as looking after and representing German economic institutions in Japan. Being a pillar of support for business is therefore central to the Chamber’s work, but also providing publicity for Germany, and a whole host of other activities, are part of it.
Operating under the DEinternational brand, the Chamber is a professional service business with worldwide connections. With its team of bi-lingual advisers, most of whom have several years experience, the Chamber offers support in market entry, change-management, trade fair management, event management and HR management. As a non-profit organisation, the Chamber does not serve its own interests, and its fees are calculated on a cost-recovery basis.
The Chamber is traditionally also a members’ association. Over 400 businesses come together on the basis of a voluntary membership to create a unique and exclusive network to promote the exchange of information and experience, and to make business contacts. Mostly working in close cooperation with other European chambers, the Chamber also pursues the interests of its member on matters of importance to the business community in Japan. Members also receive a 20% discount on services of DEinternational.
