About the Event
The 2nd EU-Japan EPA Forum was held on May 16-17, 2019 at the Principe di Saovia in Milan as an EU wide Japan gathering of industry experts, business leaders, senior executives, policy chiefs and diplomats, all discussing and sharing alternative insights and views on the commercialisation of the recently ratified and implemented EUJapan Economic Partnership Agreement. The 2-day EU wide event focused on industries such as AI, Agri-Business, Automotive, Aviation, Banking, Chemicals, Commodities, Electronics, FMCG, Financial Services, Machinery, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Robotics, Supply Chain, Technology and Transportation.
Thoughts from AHK Japan CEO
The EPA, according to AHK Japan CEO Marcus Schürmann, is dubbed as the „superhighway“ for trade, Joint Ventures, Research & Development and third country projects. In his own words the key takeaway from the event was as follows: both partners must make free trade work and EU and Japan shall lead by example. It’s high time to contribute and act.
