Since its foundation in 1948, DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereinafter called DMG MORI) has continuously provided innovative machine tools for customers all over the world. We reached a capital and business partnership agreement with a German machine tool builder DMG MORI AG in 2009 and completed management integration with them in 2016.

We, a total of some 13,000 employees with diverse backgrounds, are all heading to the same direction with the aim of being the No. 1 machine tool manufacturer for customers and total solution provider. About Our Additive Manufacturing Business and Products

Hybrid of cutting and deposition challenge of additive manufacturing

LASERTEC 65 3D, a hybrid machine of laser metal deposition and milling, was added to DMG MORI lineup in 2014. This machine demonstrates superior ability in machining of complex-shaped parts for aircraft and medical fields, part repair and corrosion- and wear-resistant coating. In 2017, REALIZER GmbH with technical excellence in a powder bed method joined us as a subsidiary, which led us to release LASERTEC 30 SLM 2nd Generation in 2018. We will further penetrate into the metal deposition field and offer the latest and most value-added solutions for customers.

Powder nozzle method

DMG MORI’s original and innovative technology integrated the cutting-edge milling technology with additive manufacturing for the first time in the world. It sprays metal powder from the powder nozzle to deposit the layers, enabling high-speed forming of various materials.

Powder bed method

Metal powder is spread over a platform in layers and a laser fuses the layers to create a targeted figure. This method is preferable for precise shaping of hard-to-cut and small workpieces, such as impellers and artificial crowns.
