While some may think that not working at the office would result in less harassment cases, unfortunately, harassment continues and has just taken a different form such as the term "Remote Harassment" which is increasingly subject of discussions in Japanese media. Join us for a webinar where our accomplished speakers decipher the term "Remote Harassment", walk you through the legal background of the Labor Policy Comprehensive Promotion Act in response to workplace harassment and provide advice on what your company can do to effectively prevent, detect, and resolve any harassment issues.

In an effort to curb harassment in the workplace, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has stepped up its efforts in recognizing that harassment is an issue in the workplace, has previously released guidelines on sexual and maternity harassment, and is currently deliberating on power harassment issues. Under the current law, the Labor Policy Comprehensive Promotion Act, large companies were required to implement measures to prevent workplace power harassment on June 1, 2020, and from April 1, 2022, small-to-mid-sized enterprises were also required to implement these measures as soon as practically possible.

On the basis of the above law this webinar will inter alia include

  • The Labor Policy Comprehensive Promotion Act in times of remote work and what is called “remote harassment”
  • How your company compares to the rest of the private sector in implementing measures to prevent workplace harassment
  • Concrete measures that your company can take to effectively prevent, detect, and resolve any harassment issues
