C-INK Co., Ltd. announced winner of the German Innovation Challenge – HighTech Startup Forum 2018

On 26 June, 2018, C-INK Co., Ltd. from Okayama was announced winner of the German Innovation Challenge – HighTech Startup Forum 2018 (GIC) at the Hotel Grand Hyatt Tokyo in front of an audience of more than 100 participants. Producing a nanoink used especially for printed electronics, C-INK convinced a jury of experts from leading German technology focused enterprises in Japan.

In total 7 pioneering high-tech startups - nominated by ecosystem builders from all over Japan - joined the GIC to pitch in front of representatives of Bayer Yakuhin, Bosch Corporation, Continental Automotive Corporation, Daimler AG, Evonik Japan, Merck Performance Materials and Schaeffler Japan. As winner of the GIC C-INK will join the Falling Walls Venture competition on 8 November in Berlin. The GIC was organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (AHK Japan) in conjunction with the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) and supported by Creww Inc.

MediGear International Corp. (nominated by TEP)
With the use of nanotechnology, MediGear International Corp. has developed a new cancer-starvation therapy. This innovation is able to target, isolate and neutralise tumours without the use of potentially harmful drugs.

ACSL Ltd. (nominated by UTEC)
ACSL Ltd. is a leading industrial drone OEM in Japan that develops platform drone systems tailored for delivery, aerial survey, disaster reconnaissance, and inspections.

C-INK Co., Ltd. (nominated by Osaka Innovation Hub)
C-INK Co., Ltd. manufactures a special ultra-high quality metal “nano-ink” (DryCure J Series) used especially for “printed electronics“.

EditForce Inc. (nominated by Global Startup Centre)
The technology developed by EditForce Inc. for manipulating nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) has the potential to contribute to drug development (medical) in unmet areas.

Hacarus Inc. (nominated by Miyako Capital)
Hacarus Inc. is a Kyoto based startup and healthcare company. Its non-deep learning AI service, HACARUS-X, can work with very small data sets and yields results understandable by humans.

The advanced API ecosystem developed by ListenField Co.Ltd. integrates diverse data, advanced analytical models and machine learning techniques, in order to give insight into crop production.
