Energy transition is a key component of economies trying to achieve the turn to sustainable growth and business practices. It will reshape and reinvent how countries and companies across all industries run their businesses - From daily operations, to production, engineering, research and development.

Such an energy transition demands immense efforts nationally for each country and even more so globally. In numbers, global renewable capacity is forecast to increase by 2.5 until 2030 with global grid to double in length from 2022 to 2050 (100mn to 205mn c-km). In this regard, grid constraints have emerged to be the key bottleneck for renewable electricity expansion with 3.000 GW of renewable projects in grid connection queues and 1.500 GW in advanced stages. To alleviate the bottleneck grid investment would need to nearly double by 2030 to over 600 $ / year.

At this event, Tim Holt, Member of the Executive Board and Labor Director at Siemens Energy, will share experiences from the European grid expansion and provide insights into the impact the ongoing grid extension in the industry will have. Mr. Holt will also discuss opportunities and challenges of the energy transition for Japan including areas of cooperation and mutual learning opportunities for both countries.  

After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A Session. The event will conclude with a networking session including snacks and drinks for participants to mingle and network. Join us for an insightful event!
