Fraunhofer Representative Office Japan is the official representation of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in Japan and bridges between Fraunhofer Researchers and Japanese customers.
Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft was established in 1949 and is Europe's biggest organisation of applied research. In 76 institutes, a staff of 30,800 develops new solutions directly for industrial production in almost all technological areas.
Besides our most famous development, MP3, Fraunhofer institutes develop new devices and processes in microelectronics, new materials as well as telecommunication technology, software and computer graphics. Further fields are pharmaceutical research, optical technologies, laser and laser applications and surface technology.
