Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Carl Moser. I am 40 years old, proud father of two daughters, and have lived in Japan for 14 years.
As the Managing Director of Vollmer Japan Corp., a leading manufacturer of grinding
machines for tool production, I represent what is often referred to as the German Mittelstand. Our company employs 800 people worldwide, including 21 dedicated colleagues here in Japan—making us a quintessential example of a mid-sized German manufacturing enterprise operating in Japan. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Vollmer Japan Corp.
Throughout my career in the German Mittelstand, I have been fortunate to get experience in establishing a Japanese subsidiary from scratch, rebuilding an organization, and actively engage in sales to major Japanese OEMs. This hands-on role gives me direct insight into the expectations and challenges faced by German businesses operating in Japan. During my first term as a board member of AHK Japan, I was pleased to share these market experiences with companies exploring opportunities here, as well as with official delegations. It has been an honor to support our community whenever called upon, and I would be happy to continue contributing in this capacity.
I am therefore standing for re-election to the Board of Directors of AHK Japan.
The majority of AHK member companies are small to mid-sized enterprises. I believe it is
important that their voice is represented—especially in light of current geopolitical and
economic shifts, which are likely to increase focus on Japan as a strategic market.
My time in Japan has shown me the value of practical, experience-based guidance from peers who understand this unique business environment. I am convinced that mutual support within our network is key to long-term success.
So Ladies and Gentlemen, if you believe the German Mittelstand should continue to have a voice within the AHK board, I would be truly honored to receive your vote.
