Jean Asselborn war von 2004 bis 2023 luxemburgischer Minister für auswärtige und europäische Angelegenheiten sowie stellvertretender Premierminister von Luxemburg. Während seiner fast zwei Jahrzehnte währenden Amtszeit spielte er eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Gestaltung der europäischen Außenpolitik und der internationalen Zusammenarbeit und gilt nach wie vor als eine der erfahrensten Persönlichkeiten der europäischen Diplomatie.
