+81-(0)3-5276-8823 energypartnership@dihkj.or.jpBoth Japan and Germany have recently transitioned to new governmental and policy frameworks. Nevertheless, efforts to advance the energy transition toward achieving carbon neutrality will continue in both countries. Within this context, hydrogen including ammonia, liquid hydrogen, LOHC, MCH and related carriers is expected to continue playing a vital role. Cooperation between companies, collaboration between academia and industry, as well as partnerships at the regional level are therefore steadily progressing.
At the World Smart Energy Week, the largest exhibition in the energy sector in March 2026, representatives of German federal states, members of the HY-5 initiative and related companies will once again visit Japan to participate in exhibition and networking activities.
The Japanese-German Energy Partnership has previously organized workshops on hydrogen infrastructure, supply chains, and port development. This year’s event will focus on hydrogen cooperation:
“Hydrogen: From Research to Market – Strengthening Hydrogen Cooperation between Japan and Germany”.
We will welcome representatives from local governments, researchers engaged in Japanese-German collaboration, and industry experts to discuss bilateral cooperation and future perspectives in the hydrogen sector.
