The evolving global security environment and increasing geopolitical uncertainty underline the importance of closer cooperation between partners that share common values and strategic interests. As Germany and Japan continue to strengthen their collaboration in security and defence, resilient supply chains, technological innovation and stronger industrial partnerships are becoming increasingly important.
The 14th German-Japanese Defence and Security Technology Forum provides a leading platform for exchange between the German and Japanese defence and security communities. Taking place on 29–30 September 2026, the Forum brings together representatives from industry, government, the armed forces and academia to discuss current challenges and future opportunities.
Over two days, participating companies will showcase their latest products, technologies and innovations through company presentations and exhibition stands. The programme will cover key domains including land, maritime, air and space, as well as situational awareness and cybersecurity. For the first time, presentations will be organised into thematic clusters, enabling more focused discussions and networking among experts. Participants will also have the opportunity to arrange dedicated B2B meetings.
The Forum will also feature keynote speeches and panel discussions addressing topics such as resilience, dual-use technologies, deep-tech innovation and the growing role of uncrewed systems. Bringing together experts from Germany and Japan, the event aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and foster dialogue on the future of defence technology and security policy.
