Japan is currently significantly tightening the practical application of its immigration laws. A key factor in this is the government’s recent decision to reform immigration law, which further confirms the policy shift toward stricter controls and increased enforcement. This may give rise to new risks for German companies—particularly with regard to employee assignments, visa classifications, and the actual nature of on-site work.
This presentation provides a concise overview of:
• current political and legal developments (including recent reform measures),
• typical areas of risk for companies in practice,
• recommended actions to avoid compliance violations.
