How can foreign companies manage their Japanese subsidiaries more efficiently while remaining legally compliant?
Managing a subsidiary or shareholding in Japan involves specific legal, governance and operational requirements. Corporate structures that were appropriate when a company was established may no longer meet its current business needs.
Join AHK Japan for a practical seminar featuring experts from Mueller Foreign Law Office and JETRO.
Michael A. Müller and Henri Döring from Mueller Foreign Law Office will explain how foreign companies can review and improve the governance and decision-making structures of their Japanese subsidiaries and how to align formal procedures with actual practices. Drawing on extensive experience advising German companies and international investors, they will present practical options relating to compliance, boards of directors, articles of incorporation, shareholder meetings and corporate resolutions.
Hiroyuki Kosuge from JETRO will introduce best practices of German/European companies in Japan and open innovation with Japan and show challenges including governance that foreign companies are facing amid current global changes and Japanese social issues.
A joint Q&A session will give participants the opportunity to discuss their questions directly with the speakers.
