The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (AHK Japan) conducts an annual business climate survey of German companies in Japan together with KPMG Germany. This year, from 31 January to 16 February, 475 companies were surveyed, and 148 companies (31%) responded validly. The results and assessment by German companies in Japan about the business climate remained very positive, overall. Among other key findings, changes in the strategic importance of the Japanese market for the German headquarters over the past 10 years and growing interest in Japan as a location for Asia-Pacific headquarters are standing out. Marcus Schuermann of AHK Japan and Andreas Glunz of KPMG in Germany will share the details. Afterwards, Michael Magee, Managing Director of BRITA Japan K.K., Karl Deppen, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation and Atsushi Hida, Managing Director of SAMSON K.K. will join the talk session to exchange views from their perspective of their own business.
