The discussion will focus on providing an overview of the main features of the Japanese Pension System from the view point of various individuals ‐ Whether you are in Japan on a short- or a long-term basis this Working Group aims at providing a structured introduction on how the Japanese Pension System works in different scenarios. Our speakers will guide you through the differences between the so-called “Kokumin Nenkin” and “Kousei Nenkin” systems. They will further explain the implications from joining these systems as an expatriate or a locally employed person, how family members will be considered and what the tax implications, including Japan-Germany double-tax treaty aspects, will be upon retirement.
All participants are most welcome to share their thoughts and questions during the subsequent Q&A session as well as to submit their questions beforehand through the registration form. We are looking forward to seeing welcoming you at the event.
