DIHK flash poll March 2020: The coronavirus’ impact on the German economy

Almost 50 percent of German companies expect a decline in revenue for this year - half of these companies even anticipate a double-digit decline.

47 percent of German companies expect a decline in revenue for this year due to the spread of the new coronavirus. This is the result of a flash poll conducted by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK). More than 10.000 companies from all German regions and industry sectors participated.

According to the poll, more than one in four companies expect a decline of more than ten percent. The hospitality sector, travel sector and trade fair operators fear a decline of more than 75 percent.
