This symposium brings together leading German and Japanese companies, research institutions, and public-sector stakeholders in the field of medical biotechnology to exchange practical insights and explore opportunities for collaboration. The programme will highlight key developments in areas including biopharmaceuticals, cell and gene therapies, regenerative medicine and cell technologies, in vitro diagnostics, personalised medicine, biomanufacturing and process automation, as well as digital health.
With a strong focus on business dialogue, the symposium provides a platform to connect with industry peers, explore potential partnerships, and discuss the policy and technological trends shaping the market.
The symposium aims to strengthen bilateral exchange and foster concrete cooperation by bringing together decision-makers and experts from government, academia, and industry in Japan and Germany.
Held within the framework of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) Market Entry Programme, the symposium is aimed at organisations and businesses active in medical biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, biomanufacturing, and digital health. It forms part of a business delegation of German SMEs visiting Japan from 19 to 23 October 2026 and is designed to facilitate targeted exchange as well as potential business and research partnerships with Japanese stakeholders.
