Machinery & Engineering Working Group

Connecting German and Japanese Manufacturing Leaders

WGME header.png

The Working Group Machinery & Engineering (MEWG) is AHK Japan’s strategic platform for senior leaders in the German–Japanese manufacturing community. It brings together Directors and Deputy Directors of manufacturing companies to exchange at eye level and to jointly shape the future of the machinery and engineering sector in Japan.

Our ambition is clear: to serve as the voice of German–Japanese industry and to strengthen the positioning of German industrial manufacturing and components expertise in the Japanese market.

A Trusted Platform for Strategic Dialogue

MEWG provides a confidential and practice-oriented environment in which member companies can openly discuss operational and strategic challenges — from investment decisions and regulatory developments to innovation, sustainability, and productivity.

The focus lies on structured knowledge transfer, peer benchmarking, and concrete collaboration. By fostering dialogue across the German–Japanese industrial ecosystem, the group enhances connectivity, resilience, and long-term competitiveness.

Representation of the Working Group
