Self-Introduction and Motivation
Dear Members of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan,
Guten Tag, Konnichiwa,
Please allow me to introduce myself: Since January this year, I have served as Regional CFO of Infineon Technologies Japan. I joined Infineon in 2017 after beginning my career in 2013 at KPMG Munich in the Corporate Tax Department’s Japan Desk. Over the past years at Infineon, I have served as a corporate tax expert; designed and rolled out the company’s Global Tax Control Framework as Global Tax Compliance Officer; led a tax team in Porto; and stepped beyond my tax role to help accelerate Infineon’s software business. These roles strengthened my experience in governance, internal controls, compliance, budgeting, and cross-border collaboration. I hold a law degree from the University of Würzburg, am admitted as a German attorney, and am certified as a German tax advisor.
My motivation is both professional and personal. With a Japanese mother and a German father, I grew up in both cultures and languages, and I understand how vital that perspective is for building strong bridges. I also have a longstanding connection to the AHK: in 2006, I spent six months there as a trainee and came to appreciate the value it brings to the German and Germany-focused business community in Japan.
If elected, my focus will especially be to ensure governance, compliance and sustainable finances, while keeping a clear focus on member priorities. I bring a pragmatic, hands-on approach, a cross-border perspective, and a strong commitment to accountability. I respectfully ask for your support.
Sincerely,
Ina Helm
CFO, Infineon Technologies Japan
