After Germany overtook Japan in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) and is now the third largest economy in the world, "NHK World Japan" reported on this development in its main news programme. The differences in general working and living conditions between Germany and Japan were examined in detail and their impact on labour productivity was highlighted.
