Internationalization in Football & Mental Strength
Borussia Dortmund with FIFA World Cup-Champion Roman Weidenfeller will visit Japan! This event is organized as part of Borussia Dortmund’s delegation to Japan featuring former world-class footballer and FIFA World Cup-Champion Roman Weidenfeller as well as Benjamin Wahl, General Manager of Borussia Dortmund East Asia.
The panel will include discussions and exchange on impact, consequences, challenges, pitfalls and opportunities for internationalization on professional football on the one hand as well as the mindset of world-class professional football players and how this can be translated to business situations of team leaders and managers.
The event aims to provide young leaders as well as experienced managers with unique insight experiences from the world of professional football and how these can be translated into learnings for international business.

Roman Weidenfeller
Former professional football player and World Cup Champion
Roman Weidenfeller is a former German professional footballer who played as goalkeeper on the highest level of football. He appeared in 355 Bundesliga games, stayed 16 years with Borussia Dortmund, won 2x the German Championship and was representing Germany in World Cup 2014 when he got World Champion.
Benjamin Wahl
General Manager Borussia Dortmund East Asia
Benjamin is heading BVB’s office in Shanghai which was established in 2017; Formerly he was leading the China business for league-opponent Bayer 04 Leverkusen and transferred to Borussia Dortmund. With his whole family coming from the area of Dortmund he was born with a black & yellow heart. With its presence in East Asia Borussia Dortmund is emphasizing its efforts to maintain the lead for Asian youth football development and to be close to its magnificent fans & partners.
