Value Partnership: Perspectives in view of global challenges

On the occasion of the visit to Japan by Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and an accompanying business delegation, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (AHK Japan) organised a “German-Japanese Dialogue Forum - Value Partnership: Perspectives in view of global challenges”. Around 200 German and Japanese industry representatives as well as the Japanese and international media took part in the event. The dialogue forum was one of the key events during their visit to Japan.

15 high-ranking executives of German and Japanese were actively involved in the event as speakers or participated in the panel discussion about the topics “global development” and “innovation”. Dr. Ulrich Nussbaum, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Hiroyuki Ishige, Chairman and CEO of JETRO, delivered the opening statements. Prof. Dieter Kempf, President of BDI, and Hiroaki Nakanishi, Chairman of Keidanren, presented the key messages of the panel discussions in the second part of the event. In her speech, Chancellor Merkel emphasised the significance of German-Japanese cooperation in global affairs and AI-related sectors.
